Bathroom pod production record at RB Farquhar Manufacturing assembly plant
Market-leading manufacturer of prefabricated bathroom pods RB Farquhar has confirmed a production record of 900 bathroom pods being assembled in its factory during the month of July 2007.
The production record followed the introduction of new four day on/four day off shift systems which have boosted productivity at the 6,500 sq.m plant in Chomutov, in the Czech Republic.
“Our new shift systems mean we are now in full production seven days a week, and this has greatly boosted our manufacturing capacity,” says managing director Michael Shand.
“We believe we are able to handle major fast-track bathroom pod contracts which would almost certainly be beyond the capability of any other European pod manufacturer.”
RB Farquhar set up its new custom-built bathroom pod assembly plant in Chomutov in 2003, and the new factory was an immediate success. By pioneering the use of mobile assembly lines and opening a second, 2,500 sq.m assembly hall last year to concentrate on accelerating the production of the lightweight steel pod frames, the company has grown its workforce to around 400.
RB Farquhar specialises in the design and manufacture of prefabricated bathroom pods for the hotel, residential, student accommodation and defence sectors, mainly in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
